Paper Flowers Update

by Mary on August 29, 2011

Since my last update on my paper bridesmaid flowers I haven’t done much. I should be working on them more but I’ve got so little time. And I lack the desire to do it, to be honest.

I unwrapped the flowers and ribbons and rewrapped them with green floral tape.

I like this look a lot better but I hate how sticky the green tape feels. I may still wrap the center part with some ribbon but I’m not sure yet.

I haven’t been working on my bouquet so it’s still where it was before – not finished!

I’m not sure how I want to finish it either. I feel like it needs either a lot more flowers or some other filler for the gaps but I haven’t decided what would be best for that.

I also started doing tissue paper flowers for the tables just to see what they would look like.

(The color in the photo is off… they aren’t this color purple. Why is purple so hard to photograph?)

I like them and my mom loves them, which is a good sign. I also want to have tissue paper poms and maybe garland around the yard so the flowers will match and be a cute way to decorate cheaply.

So that’s how the paper flowers are going for the wedding. I need to find more time to work on these and get them finished. The wedding is creeping up on me!

They look really cool!! I like the new tape around them as well.

I personally don’t think you need much else to fill in the gaps on yours. But maybe crumpling up some tissue paper, or wrapping it around the ball might help?

They both look awesome, and the new flowers are cool! I remember you doing something similar (if not the same) when you were over here testing out different styles for flowers :)

I probably don’t. From far away the gaps aren’t very noticeable, but of course to me they are annoying and all I see. ;)

Those tissue paper flowers look awesome!!

My sister wrapped her own bouquets for her wedding … and I helped. That sticky green tape is sticky, and it stays sticky. We ended up wrapping the middle (where the bridesmaids would hold the flowers) with green ribbon. 1) it wasn’t sticky and 2) you couldn’t tell from the pictures.

Good luck! Love what you have so far!

I love the flowers, I think that you’ve done such a great job with them! Keep up the good work, I know we are getting down to the wire, and all I see is my to-do list getting longer… ugh.

Thanks! I know what you mean about the ever growing to do list. Wonder why that happens?
